Well as you have guessed spring is in full swing, and summer is around the corner. I stepped outside this evening, for a smoke and caught a face full of that wonderful scent of honeysuckle growing like crazy outside, wonderful during the spring, stinky during the summer. This is one of the many consequences we accept in life, wonderful now for crap later, but the crap you get later is hardly never an issue, as long as you've taken a chance to enjoy the wonderful today. Looking back at the pictures i've posted with Deviant Art up to this point have been a journey for me, starting with the fiddlings of a point and shoot camera all the way up to my present DSLR, i attest it to being my virtual growth chart in seeing, appreciating and understanding, understanding many things, pictures we take yesterday or today may be the only pictures to ever exist. Sure the pictures we share here may look the same, a photograph of a sunset, the famous heart shadowed ring in a book effect, all the way up to pictures that leave us feeling a bit uneasy about ourselves from time to time. These pictures may not mean much to the viewer however to the creator, granted they may seem like copies of the rest, are a moments triumph for the said, now we can't all possibly know what was going through the photographers mind at the moment they snapped the picture; But it is an emotion that should not be disregarded, from a pebble on carpet in black and white, to a picture of a bottle of mustard on it's side spilling forth it's contents onto a red and white checkered sheet. with that said, i propose a challenge if you will, Starting today, i personally am going to take AT LEAST ONE picture a day, be it something that reminds me of something i enjoy or something that i like, barring the idea of artistic concept for this unless i am so tickled to do so. And I'm going to post a story of why i love this shot, what it reminds me of, and why it is so important to me. I highly encourage anybody that reads this article to do the same, 1 picture at least, a day, for 30 days, unless you don't have that many favorite things or run out of them from shooting so much, and tell a small story, maybe a paragraph, though if you truly enjoy it i'm sure you could go on for days about it. Shoot you could even take a photo already in your gallery and just update it with a story about it telling about what inclined you to take it and why it means so much to you.
I think that this could be an awesome idea and would love to have a few of my fellow watchers join in on this project, no artistic requirements, just a picture with what it means, you can put it in scraps, though with Deviant Arts new way of setting up collections that would be a shame. I may feature pictures from fellow deviants that participate!
P.S. expect for my photography to really pick up in mid November, as i'll be a papa!
